Thank you for this scam report, the classic West-African scam scenario with a widowed guy lonely with children and working overseas ending with asking for money ,uses probably a spoofed landline US phone number or magic jack could you post the money asking letter and other letters as well the scammer has sent you as scammers use form letters that are copied and pasted from the internet ,could give a clue where the scam has its origin .

Wow, I was hoping he had stopped all this after I contacted the FBI and also put him on notice. He had me going for months, fortunely I didnt give him a dime just my time and some expensive phone bills. Praying he gets caught and that the persons photos he took is aware.

I just have a few questions regarding this guy. Does he speak with a foreign accent? Maybe Spanish of sorts. Does he claim he was born in Spain? Claim his reception with his phones receiver is bad and sounds kinda robotic or have a speech impairment? Claims he's shy? And has computer issues where he isn't able to access a webcam or speakers that work? If anyone can answer these please let me know.

You are talking with a scammer from West-Africa therefor the foreign accent.Scammers has always problems with their computers, suddenly no access to internet ,it means it is a scammer that has many other victims in the same time so keeping promises is not their strongest side, but they also tell this to people to see if people are getting hooked up on the scammers words ,just a test to see if you are into his stories.Remember scammers are good liars ! The webcam story is classic as the scammer do not want to show up his real face to you ,most computers has webcams nowadays . Be careful as you are for sure connected with a scammer ,I advice you to cease the connection with the scammer!

Wow, This guy contacted me yesterday through a dating site, claiming to be from Italy but now living in IL with full custody of his 6 year old daughter, Brenda. He told me his name was James K Mayer. He told me that he was currently in Nigeria building an orphanage, that he'd be there for 2 months and that his daughter was with him, and he had hired a great tutor to homeschool her. I became suspicious because I actually do work with a non profit orphanage in Africa and am very familiar with the protocol for that. Nothing he said made sense, so I google searched the picture he had on his profile, and this site came up. So, as of June 20, 2014, he is still doing this.
